Why Leadership, Civic Duty and Education Matter
Some communities are healthier than others, and any community can be healthier. Healthy communities make for a healthy nation. What can we in Northern Nevada do to enhance the Northern Nevada community, and how do such enhancements translate into a strong nation? Come listen to Steve Bragorgos share his insights, with a focus on how leadership, civic engagement by the people, and education contribute. Steve's combined experiences in the military, in business, and as a school board member give him unique insight.
Biography: Steve Bragorgos is currently a finance manager with the Federal Highway Administration and a Colonel with the 75th Pacific Division Training Command at Camp Parks, CA.
Steve has served previously in government, in the private sector, and in the military. He has served in a budgeting and finance with the federal government for almost 20 years. He served about 10 years in the private sector, working for AutoZone and Cellular One. Steve also has served in the Army Reserves for almost 30 years. This includes 10 years of active duty, including tours in Korea and Germany and deployments in Iraq, Afghanistan and Kosovo. He was Battalion Commander of the 33rd Brigade Special Troops Battalion, which deployed to Afghanistan in 2008-2009.
Steve has a bachelor's degree from Northwestern University, an MBA from University of Illinois, and is a graduate of the Army's Command and General Staff College.
Steve has served as a School Board member of Consolidated School District 118, in Danville, Illinois.
Steve has three grown children and now resides in Reno.
